Live after the summer…
Our Healthcare can be transformed by making better use of health-data
The European Patients’ Forum (EPF) and the European Institute for Innovation through Health Data (i~HD) are committed to raising public awareness of the benefits to healthcare from the use of health data. Together with other stakeholders from the health data and research community, we are creating a trustworthy environment for dialogue across Europe about health data. We are an open, inclusive and learning initiative and would be delighted to welcome new partners from across the EU who share our goals and values.
Unrestricted funding to kick start the initiative has been provided by the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) and EIT Health. Other public and private partners have expressed an interest in contributing to the initiative and we are engaging in discussions with the European Commission regarding future funding opportunities.
Data Saves Lives is growing a ‘health data community’ and a structured discussion forum on acceptable trustworthy practices in data use. We are collaborating with other initiatives that are in parallel promoting the Twitter hashtag #DataSavesLives.
This site will explain how research is undertaken by different organisations and teams, public and commercially. There will be pages that explain how data protection can be ensured and how researchers should comply with data protection legislation such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
We will go live in September, 2019 and hope to progressively add channels for public comment and host discussions, as we grow!
